Bari

We hopped on a train Saturday morning and travelled south to Bari...a 9 hour trip...to go see Carol Castleberry. She was such an encouragement and help to us when moving to Italy was heavy on our minds and hearts. While we were there, she and her companion, Maria Sigusmundo, introduced us to several of the Friends in their field. These pictures were taken at the Caputo family's home. We spent most of Sunday there and we enjoyed getting to know them, eating luscious food and just relaxing.

New friends

Meet Lucy, Massimo and little Eva. We met them at the local mall! Lucy is from the UK and Massimo was born and raised in a small village near here. They have a precious 4-year-old to whom we've gotten very attached! We have enjoyed spending time with them...and they have even entrusted their health to Dr. Wayne and receive treatments some Saturdays here at our flat. We feel very indebted to them as they have helped us tremendously with language translations, culture adaptation and the list goes on...

Rare Sighting

Excuse us for not posting for an age. Had to show you this shot. It's very rare to see the Alps this clearly. And when we do, they take our breath away! There is usually way too much fog and smog between here and the mountains to even see their outline.

To combat the smog issue, the government enforces a block on all vehicles one day every 2 months or so. It usually falls on a Sunday. Don't know if this "clears the air" or not...perhaps it soothes their conscience!
